Brush wishlist

So since I have only started building up my make-up collection I have only just started understanding how much a brush matters. I have so many crappy brushes from online and they do nothing. So probably the past 3 months I have been searching and searching for the best brushes so I could get them for my birthday. I honestly believe the real technique brushes are up there! So I have had the core collection for a while now and I love it! Here is my brush lust list!

Real techniques:

Blush brush
Real Techniques Blush Brush

Powder brush

Real Techniques Powder Brush

Starter kit
Real Techniques Your Eyes/Enhanced Starter Set
Expert face brush

Samantha Chapman Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

I don't want to add prices because they can vary depending on where you buy them but generally they are all around the £10.00 mark some are £2/£3 pound higher or lower. They all have such amazing reviews and they really help give that professional finish. I would also really like to pick up some crown brushes but I haven't read enough reviews about them to go ahead and buy any yet!
(None of these pictures are mine I take no credit for them)

Thanks for reading and if you have any brush recommendations send them this way!

August faves!!

Hey, so this month I have been so busy and poorly so I have hardly had time to blog,
So i go back to uni in 2 weeks and i am going to start getting into a blogging routine. I have started scheduling a few posts already. I will probably be blogging twice a week.

Anyway getting into august. I have two beauty products a perfume and a moisturizer. I haven't really bought anything this month, I've tried to save a bit of money cause I have a few birthdays coming up and it's also my birthday in October so I have been writing a list instead.

Jimmy Choo, Nivea day cream, Smashbox brow tech to go. Mac blusher

So at the end of July I bought the Jimmy Choo perfume because I was really in the mood to try something different. I walked into Debenhams and tried so many fragrances. This was the only that stood out to me and didn't blend into every other one. It has such fruity berry smell. I feel like it is different to any other perfume and it stands out which always appeals to me. I have been wearing this nearly everyday and it just makes me feel so fresh! Such a nice perfume! This was £39.00 but well worth the money.

I have just recently got this Nivea day cream at the beginning of the month. I really needed a new moisturizer because the simple products started giving me break outs. (mad because it is simple) My skin really doesn't get on with many skincare products but there are a few I always go back to which are things like Nivea, Garnier and loreal paris. I tend to stick with drugstore brands because they have always worked for me. So i saw this last time I was in boots and I really wanted to try it. I love it, it gives my face such a lift on a morning. it blends in and dries almost instantly which is fab when you are in a rush on a morning. Its such a nice product and for £3.19 it is such a steal.

I have had the brow tech to go for about 3 or 4 months now! I couldn't use anything else now. It perfectly shapes with your eyebrows. It doesn't come out to dark or light it is literally the perfect match for my brow colour. It keeps the shape and the gel on the other end keeps your hair is place all day. It stays on so well throughout the day and doesn't fade. It wipes off easy. It is so easy to apply you just basically stroke it over your brows and you are ready to go. I love the fact it has a little gel on the end. This comes in at £19.00, this is expensive but I love it so much I don't think i would get anything else now.

Lastly I bought this Mac blusher at the beginning of August while in Leeds. I needed to by something from Harvey Nics so a much wanted peachy mac blusher was purchased. This blusher is in the colour Melba in a matte finish. It is such a summery colour but I think I will take it through to autumn with a bit of bronzer threw it. This blusher stays on all day and is just such a cute colour which goes really well with my recent hair change. I got brown on the top up to about my eyebrows and kept the rest blonde which my hair already was. Although it makes me look paler adding more blusher makes my cheeks look brighter and it is making me learn to contour better. This was £18.00 but all my mac blushers last years so I happy to pay that price.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it. Hope this persuaded you to buy these products if you are interested. Feel free to comment.

Thanks

TAG: how much is my face

I was tagged to do this post by the lovely Hannah Hepton, its all about calculating how much all the makeup I wear on a daily basis actually is. I am scared to see how much it all is and it probably won't be worth it at all. I separated it into face, eyes, cheek and lips. I wear all of this nearly everyday i might swap a very products around now and again but in a nut shell this is what i wear. I just want to say although i have a decent size make-up collection i didn't buy this all at once so please don't go out buy everything together! I bought all of this with my own money :)

MAC mineralize foundation - £27.00
MAC mineralize skinfinish - £22.00
Boi-ing benefit concealer - £17.50
Stippling brush, real techniques - £11.99
Real techniques core collection - £21.99
(only adding the brushes once but they are used throughout my daily make-up routine)

= £100.48

Smashbox brow tech to go - £19.00
Topshop brow pencil - £6.00
Revlon colorstay eye pencil - £6.29
bourjois liner feutre - £5.99
Urban decay naked 2 palette - £36.00

= £73.28

MAC powder blush - £18.00 x2

= £36.00

Baby lips - £2.99
Kate Moss lipstick - £5.49
The little green tin - 99p

= £9.47

In total the cost of my daily makeup look is £219.23
I am shocked by the price of my 'face' section. This probably won't make a difference to what i buy. I always full review things before i buy anything and I love everything I use.

Thanks for reading!

Review: MAC blusher

This blusher is amazing! I wanted to share it with you all cause it is just such a lovely colour!
Powder blush in Melba matte

So I've had this about a month now, and I have wore it so much! This is my second blusher from MAC and i don't think I would ever go anywhere for a blusher now. They are by far my favorite brand for a nice pigmented colour. I went to Leeds at the beginning of august and went into Harvey Nics! This blusher was picked up from there.

Blushers from Mac are very pigmented which is the main reason why I love them so much! One swipe with your brush and there is enough powder on there to cover your cheek bone. I choose this colour because I never go for peachy looking blushers, recently I have seen a lot of you bloggers rave about a nice peachy colour so I was desperate to try it out. I saw this on the stand and it stood out to me. Since I have been wearing it so many people have commented on my cheeks and how natural they look. So when I am wearing this i normally highlight the tops of my cheek bones. I then add this onto my cheek bones and go up to my brow bone. I sometimes apply just a slight bit but I do tend to give it a bit more colour. I then blend it out with my stippling brush if i feel it is necessary. It is also a matte colour which is right up my street. I am going off glittery colours at the minute.

You can see by this swatch it is very peachy but on a pale skin it works wonders for your complexion and i just thing it is such a pretty and skin loving colour. For me this lasts all day but it can sometimes fade slightly if I don't have a primer or a setting powder on. I would recommend this to everyone and there is so many shades to choose from. I would really love to try a pro long wear blush. In my experience the blushers do generally last a long time so although at £18.00 it is expensive if you use it wisely then it is worth the money.

Such a good blusher to try out so if you are thinking about it i hope this has persuaded you!

Review: Benefit boi-ing concealer

I am back in bussiness after nearly two weeks off blogging. Ive been really poorly these last two weeks and apart from feeling very sorry for myself I haven't had the energy to blog! Ive had tonsiltius which I wouldnt wish on anyone. Anyway I am back now and hopefully won't be poorly for a while. Ive got a review for you guys about the boi-ing concealer.

so i got this concealer at the end of july because i have really bad dark circles and every hightstreet and high end concealer i have tried just doesnt work. So after talking in bloggers chat i got this concealer recommended to me. I went into benefit which
is my favouite company at the minute. The lady tried this on me and it worked a treated! I also got some sample eye cream which is supposed to decrease dark circles. I have been lazy and not tried it yet but i will get round to it. So onto the concealer.

I got this is the 01 which is the lightest. although i am pale i know some of you are even paler and might not be able to wear this which is a bit of a downside. A lot of people who have reviewed this said it is thick and clumpy when applied. I personally don't find this at all. I apply my primer and then before my foundation I apply this to my dark circles. I use my finger to apply and blend and it really works. I then go over with my foundation using the real techniques stippling brush which normally covers anything else. This also helps to blend all the products together.

As you can see in this before and after photo, this concealer hides any imperfection and it practically covers my scar. I think it gives a flawless finish and it is really worth the money. This comes in at £17.50 which i think for a pot of concealer is expensive. I do think its worth the money and i will be repurchasing thos concealer instead of my mac studio finish concealer. As you can see this is a pastey mix for a concealer, i personally like this mix better than a liquid concealer as i feel it hides more imperfections and it is easily blended but it is just personal perference. I am still on the hunt for a cheaper concealer but thats for a different post. If you have dark circles you should totally try this it really does the trick!

Thanks for reading and i hope you all understand why i haven't posted for a while. I'm leaving you a picture of what my favorite cat thinks of this concealer

Most loved app of the week

Hi guys I have tonsilitus at the moment so I haven't been blogging much. This one is from the mobile blogger app which I don't get along with very well. I don't have the energy to sit at my laptop so I am just giving you a little favourite app I am loving!

So I always knew about the site etsy but until I found the mobile app I never really went on it. I'm sure many of you use this website to buy all kinds of things. The mobile verison gives you catergories which you swipe along for a different screen.

So if you make an account with them you can get your own activity log and if you like anything while browsing you are able to press the heart and it comes up on your activity. This can also be seen by oeople who follow you. This website sells anything you could think of! As you can see i am looking for an infinity bracelet. If i am after something that you won't find in the shops or i want it unique to everyone else this is where i come. Although a lot of things are reasonably priced there are still some things that are expensive (makeup storage) Its a site i would recommend to you beauty/fashion/lifestyle lovers. If you are anything like me you will fall inlove with everything on this site. So many things to find which I probably haven't even came across yet.

Thanks for reading sorry its short and sweet!

Review, smashbox photo finish primer

I did so much research before buying this primer. Everyone was giving it so much hype so I decided to go for it.

I was all set on getting the normal photo finish
primer but the lovely lady who served me explained the photo finish hydrating primer was best for my skin type which is dry.
Id say I've had this primer a month now and I have loved this product. I use a pea size amount and I put it on the back off my hand then apply it just using my fingers. On application it glides on with a silicon base. I like this type of primer because I also feel as well priming my face it is giving me the moisture i need. On application it does come out clear although it comes out the tube blue.

This is around the amount i use each morning, i apply it around my t-zone, chin and under my eyes. It sinks into your skin almost instantly which is great when you are in a rush like me most mornings haha! This is one of the best primers I have ever tried, it does what it is supposed to do, it hydrates my skin all day and it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and smooth and it keeps my makeup put all day. I do apply concealer throughout the day if I have any breakouts but this is just me personally it does generally keep the makeup on I am just slightly obsessed! I hardly ever get spots so when I do its a massive deal. Now i realize not all of you have dry skin and your skin type is more than likely totally different to mine. Smashbox do a range of primers from anti redness to oil free! I have never tried any other (obviously) but I can suggest having a go of them since this primer is amazing and does everything I would like a primer to do. I paid £28.00 for this full size primer but they do travel size primers in every type for £12.50. This is a great idea for someone who is new and wanting to try this.

I would recommend this to anyone it is perfect for everyday use! I would use it under my foundation no matter what I was getting up to that day! By using only a pea size amount the primer is going to last a while which makes up for the price a little. I would definitely re-purchase this product.
