BOOTS 3 for 2! Mascara and concealer

Hey guys, who didn't get down to boots this weekend for the 3for2! I love when boots do this cause i always explore new products! I only just got these yesterday but I wanted to put it up and show you guys and then post reviews on them over the next few weeks!

So I got two concealers and a mascara,

This concealer is from seventeen and it is a miracle matte concealer stick which aims to last shine free all day. Although I don't normally buy stick concealers this one caught my eye and it looked like a handy one to carry around in my bag to top up while I am out. This was in the colour extra fair.

£3.99

Next is this beautiful mascara when I saw it i really wanted to give it ago. Lately all my mascaras are coming off throughout the day or running down my face and the only one that doesn't is the i'm real by benefit but i wanted to try and find a cheaper one. This is from Maybelline and it is called 'Big eyes volume express' and this in waterproof just to see if it will stay on my eyes better.

£8.99

Lastly another concealer which I also have high hopes for, this is the loreal paris le correcleur perfect match. I really hope this blends in nicely and suits my skin. This is in the colour 02 which was the lightest shade.

£6.99

Thanks for reading and get yourselves down to boots!

Trip to Birmingham!

So I finished uni last Thursday which gave me and Connor a bit of time to have a trip to Birmingham before Christmas. I mainly wanted to go for Selfridge's and of course the German market. (There is no good markets in the north-east) So I have posted a few pictures of our little trip.

I didn't get many of the Christmas Market mainly because I was so excited!

How cute are the stalls! No idea what they say though

Wish I got a picture of the tree on a night.

I have no idea what this actually is, can anyone enlighten me?

Yes not the best photo haha

This is our friends cat who we stayed with he is so old but the cutest ever

Of course I had to treat myself to something, I have been lusting after this for a while and it was the only place I could buy it from a shop since there are no nars counters in the north east. I also got a few other things but they are for Christmas so I will have to do another post on those.

I hope you enjoy these kind of posts! :)

Clinque chubby stick

Now I never planned to get this product or even researched this! I went to buy a Christmas present from clinque and came out with a chubby stick for myself!

So chubby sticks are coming into the beauty world and there is a good reason why. There are a lot of drugstore brands that support the chubby stick phase! Bourjois is one of my all time favorite brands and they have a little collection of these which are brill!

Anyway I just saw a little collection of these little chubby sticks with a range of different colours so I tried a few and fell in love with this beautiful colour, which is mighty mimosa (13).
The chubby stick comes under lipsticks, it is possible to use this as a lipstick but along side that pro it is a moisturizing lip balm. Just have one application your can feel it giving your lips moisture and softness. At this time of year I feel my lips becoming so dry and some lip balms just don't help at all but this is amazing. It gives you a nice colour but also that lip balm feeling of keeping your lips moist.

Now I know a few of these chubby sticks are more sticky and more lip gloss when applied this one is more like a lip balm when applied.

I went for a natural colour so I can wear it any time anywhere. I love this little stick it is handbag size and light to carry it around. This goes everywhere with me now. This is £17.00 which is expensive since you can get a similar product from the high street. I personally would prefer to spend a little more and get a better quality lip product. I would recommend the bourjois chubby stick as well but I highly recommend the clinque on. It is a top product and the packaging is also very high quality. This chubby stick winds up from the bottom so look after it and you will get all of the product out of it. I know some high street products that you have to either push or sharpen. I personally never buy something if I have to sharpen it mainly because it never sharpens how I want it to.

Overall this is an amazing product and it is well worth the money I love it!

Urban Decay bronzer!

Hey guys! hope you are all ok :) So for my birthday i had a little spending spree in urban decay, it was great. This was one of the products I got because I couldn't resist the urge for a high end bronzer.

Now urban decay packaging is always up there for me. I love it no matter what. I love the gold colour on the box and although it is cardboard it is very strong and it just makes it that bit more 'it was well worth paying for' type thing. As it states on the box this bronzer can be used for face and body. I personally only use it for my face but if you did want to use it on your body it would most likely apply very well just because of the texture of the product but I would say its well worth a go! I just wanna mention how detailed the writing is on the packaging too! I love how professional yet attractive it always looks.

I have this bronzer in toasted and it comes under the baked bronzer. I'm not certain you can still get it in this colour mainly because I can't find it on the website anymore. (That might be me just been stupid) There are other colours by urban decay which are all very nice.

As you can see the packaging is a very nice compact. It doesn't have a mirror inside which of course wouldn't go a miss but nothing to major. Although it looks like a matte type bronzer it does have a slight sparkle to it but nothing to noticeable. Now I have been wearing this bronzer nearly everyday since I have bought it, because we are well into autumn here in the UK I feel it gives your cheeks a nice warm tone. When I want to have a bit more look at my cheeks sorta day I add a blusher to it as well. I haven't actually tried contouring with product but for those will paler skin tones it will be perfect.
I use the real techniques blushing brush to apply this. It is very rich in colour and very pigmented it will give you the perfect look with just a touch on your brush. I am just totally in love with this product at the minute and I just think you can play this down for a casual look but build it up as well.
This was £20.00 which I think is an ok price since it is high end. I love it and I would recommend it to everyone. If you do have a darker skin tone then there are other colours which would probably match better.

Bourjois Blusher (healthy mix 41)

A review on yet another blusher. I think I am obsessed with blushers.

So last month I picked this little cutie up, I already had a cream blush from bourjois but I really didn't get on with it. So when i came across the powder blushers in boots I decided to give them ago. I have heard mixed reviews about bourjois blushers but I do like this blusher. I wouldn't place it over urban decay and mac blushers but for the price I really enjoy playing around with it.

One of the main reasons I picked this blusher up is because it is in the colour 'healthy mix 41'. So since it is healthy mix i thought it will probably blend well since i use the foundation. It is a peachy but near enough natural cheek colour. I tend to apply this to my lower half of my cheek bone then add a slight touch of bronzer, mix it together and perfect autumn cheek colour!

As you can see you get a brush with the blusher but it is a rounded shape to fit in the little pot. I tried applying the blusher with it but it is very awkward! I use my real techniques blush brush. I love this blush I love the point it goes into because it helps apply blusher very precisely. The only issue with using this blush brush is the pot is actually very small like hand bag/ travel size pot, which makes the brush slightly bigger than the pot (very annoying). I like the colour of this because I can wear this everyday without it looking over the top!

So top things about this product
- its pigmented and blends like a dream
- perfect everyday colour
- brilliant travel size

Totally worth spending the £7.99. It is a very high quality product.
I would recommend bourjois as a very good company I have loved all their products that I have tried and they are such a high quality company for a high street price!

Love

Birthday Haul

I had my 20th birthday on the 3rd of October! So i spent my birthday money on a few bits I've been waiting to get for a while! I have also saved up a lot of my money. I would like to thank my family, boyfriend and friends for all of these presents!
I have separated my products into skincare and makeup.

This is the selection of skincare products that I got. The Loreal micellar was a repurchase. The rest are products I have never tried.

These three products were a present off my friend Hannah, the hand food is a very popular product and can't wait to carry this about. I have never tried both the spray mist and face mask but I am very excited to!

So I did ask my mam for the Clinque moisturizer. I was so excited when i opened the three step pack. I will be doing a review on this. It is amazing! the moisturizer its self is the dramatically different lotion but you can also get a gel type. This is £17.00 for 50ml and you can get it in a tube or a pump style bottle! The Loreal micellar is one of my favourite products at the minute it does my skin wonders you can get this from boots or super drug and most supermarkets have it in (UK only) this ranges from £2.00-4.00, there are always deals on.

I got three real technique brushes to add to my collection! From left to right, expert face brush, blush brush and powder brush. These are just perfect I love them! They ranged from £9.99 to £15.00

This is the makeup products I picked up, The MUA blusher is off hannah again. The rest I picked up myself with money I got for my birthday.

I love MUA blushers I don't have this colour which is great. Now I saw this easy travel friendly eye-shadow pen in a browny colour for the crease and a golden colour for the lid it is great, this was £6.99. I lovely autumn barry M nail polish in a navy blue.

I was so excited when I saw the new Urban Decay palette which I will be reviewing soon so you can see it all! It has 5 eye shadows two blushers and a highlighter as a two story palette. With a added lip crayon and eyeliner. The bronzer which is face and body which is a lovely product and a repurchase of mac mineralize skin-finish powder which is my go to powder and it literally lasts me a year!

I would like to thank everyone for my birthday gifts! I cant wait to play about with them and give them a review!

Thanks

Mascara of the month: Maybelline Falsies

After weeks of researching this mascara I finally bought it, I swore by benefit they're real mascara I believed nothing would come close to that mascara but this one comes 99% close and is half the price.
So what do they claim?

Well the name says it is like false lashes , they obviously don't add any more length to your lashes but they give them volume which in effect makes them look longer and thicker. Now I am very blessed to have lovely lashes that are long and thick without mascara so I don't need much but I do like getting the best. With this mascara I do feel like It gives my lashes a great look with just one stroke of mascara! They also claim it is ex matte and extremely black. Now in all fairness I always get a black mascara so I don't really think there is a mascara any blacker than another but it is a dark black I suppose. I have also never had a shiny mascara they have always been a matte colour so it is as matte as it can be. I can't really go into much detail about these two claims but it is black and it is matte!

The brush is a very curvy shape which fits your lashes perfectly, this also gives less mess (getting it all over my face) which is always a benefit for me! It also gives your lashes a nice shape without a curler. Its hard to get used it it compared to just a straight line but once you do it is very addictive. I have never curled my lashes purely because they don't need it. I never find that it clumps which is always a plus from a high street. mascara.
They do two different types one waterproof one non waterproof. I choose the waterproof one purely because winter is coming (yes, i was aiming for the game of thrones reference) and i always get caught in the rain. This mascara will last all day which is brill! I find it lasts long than the benefit they're real mascara.

This was £7.99 which is a great price and does the same thing compared to the Benefit they're real which is
£19.50.

My favourite foundation

Hey guys, since starting this blog I have blogged about two different types of foundations. At the time I really did love them both (Mac mineralize and Wake me up) Since testing out a few others my now go to foundation is definitely the Bourjois healthy mix foundation.

I've had this for a few months now and at first I was only using it for lazy days and work days. The other times I was using my Mac one. I think it is important to remember just because you pay a lot of money for a foundation doesn't mean it is going to be good which is what I found out. I paid £23.00 for the Mac one which is fairly expensive in my eyes. I only paid £7.99 for the bourjois healthy mix foundation. I researched this foundation a lot before I bought it, for example whether to get serum or foundation and what the colour matches were like. This also has a build in pump which is always a good thing. I found the serum was for people with a more combination/ oily skin type whereas the foundation is for a more dry to normal skin type. I get on really well this foundation it never breaks me out in spots and it is such a lovely texture.

So getting onto the foundation itself, it is a very creamy but not to runny which is great. I apply this with the stippling brush but i am always looking for knew ways to apply foundation. (I have literally just bought the expert face brush on Saturday so i will be trying this out) One of the promises made by this foundation is that it lasts 16 hours, I personally wouldn't agree it lasts this long but I do believe it lasts the majority of the working day. It is supposed to give a healthy glow, I totally love this glow from this foundation it is a shiny glow its a more dewy glow and it just looks so natural. Of course it will also depend on how you apply it but overall I don't think it could give you a really shiny look. It keeps your skin hydrated and it is also supposed to have fruit therapy in which of course is lovely for your skin!

Now this picture is horrendous and it doesn't look like the right match for my skin type but it actually matches very well.  This is in the shade 51. I apply probably around two and half pumps depending on how much make up I am actually wanting to wear. It covers my face and any main imperfections.
The only issues I have with this foundation is that I know it doesn't have a great deals of shades and very pale people will probably not get away with this foundation as I have the lightest one and although I am pale I know a lot of people who would need a paler tone than me. The other issue is the packaging, although it comes in a glass bottle and has a pump which I can't fault. The writing on the packaging is actually a full sticker all the way round the bottle. The sticker peals off very easy and I never even got a chance to take photos of this before it started peeling on the side which was annoying.

On Asos at the minute this is actually only £6.50 with free delivery to the UK so go and grab it now!
The price in the high street is £7.99

Overall I really love this foundation and I will be sticking with it for a while. I would definitely recommend this.

Fallen back inlove with Browzings

So I first posted when i picked this up which was back in June/July. I started using it and I didn't really know how to so I was just going along with what I thought looked best. This was one of my first eyebrow products as I used to use eye-shadow to fill in my brows. I soon started to use the Smashbox brow tech to go, this is just a pencil thing in a tube which winds up. Anyway that was amazing but unfortunately I have miss placed it which I am so annoyed with myself at. So I went back to this lovely product. I spent an entire night playing about with it.

When I started back using this product I realized I had been using the was and the powder round the wrong way. So when I first started using this product I was trying to fill my brows in with the wax which as you can imagine didn't work out to well for me. I was then just giving the powder one stroke over my brows. I am the worst excuse for a girl. So since I have been using this beautiful product again I have been filling my brows in with the powder then going over with the wax to keep my brows in shape. This works much better and as far as I am aware is the way this product works.

This is my eyebrow filled in now and although I am still working on a perfect look I am happy with it at the moment, know doubt that will change very soon.

I promised myself I would but another smash tech to go pencil because I really do love it but for now I am going to hope it shows up at some point and save my money as it was fairly expensive.

Browzing - £23.50
Smashbox brow tech to go - £19.00

Have you guys tried these products if so let me know how you have found them!

Thanks for reading
